When talking Group B, people would usually come to think of the iconic duo, the Audi Quattro and the Lancia 037, some may think the Lancia Delta or the Ford RS200. While all these machines were undoubtedly successful and iconic in their own ways, there is one machine that people tend to forget, or aren’t even aware of it’s existence. A machine that was very successful that had Group B never got admonished at the end of 86′, it could’ve continued to dominate and would’ve possibly be the most successful car to compete in Group B. Introducing the unsung hero, the 205 Turbo 16, Peugeot’s take at Group B dominance. 

• Car History

“To homologate the 205 T16 (“Turbo 16” in France) Group B rally car, Peugeot had to produce 200 road-going examples. According to the Group B regulations, these had to be based on a current production road car. Peugeot decided to base the Group B rally car on the two door version of the 205.
